House Minority Leader John Boehner and the White House engaged in a heated debate today over federal economic policies, with the Congressman calling on President Obama to fire his economic team.
During remarks at the City Club in Cleveland, Rep. Boehner laid out GOP plans to revive the economy, which include measures to stimulate job creation and extend the expiring tax cuts made under President Bush.
In a later address, Vice President Biden responded to the Republican leader’s speech by explaining the President’s plan to continue the cuts for the middle class, those making less than $200,000 or families making over $250,000. He also released a report today on the Recovery Act’s impact on innovation.

Washington Examiner's J.P. Freire talked about the GOP and 2010 campaign. The discussion included policy recommendations that the Washington Examiner editorial board will make in the days ahead to the GOP and its leadership on how to shrink the size of government and reduce federal spending. This to prevent the party from "squandering a historic opportunity" to present an alternative to "big-spending congressional Democrats," and toward electoral success in the midterm elections.
